Cartonal boards are made from plastic polymers that will slowly
deteriorate if exposed to ultra violet rays for extended periods of time physically and chemically (minimum of 3 months). As protection boards, Cartonal is usually used underground or in covered areas, where U.V. rays don’t exist, hence this phenomenon does not occur. When Cartonal boards are required to be  exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, as is the case in Cartonal Waffle System, then a protective additive is included in the manufacturing process to provide the necessary protection from U.V. rays.
